North Melbourne star breaks own AFLW disposal record in Roos' 20th straight win image

North Melbourne and Tasmania have a thing for history, it seems.

On Saturday afternoon, Kangaroos superstar Ash Riddell broke the AFLW record for most disposals in a single game with 45, which was previously held by... herself.

It comes less than two months after Harry Sheezel tied the record for most disposals in a single game in the men's competition, while also playing for the Roos on the Apple Isle.

Riddell's history-making performance, which was accompanied by 609 metres gained and seven score involvements, helped the Roos ease to their 20th straight win.

North haven't suffered a defeat since 2023's Grand Final, where they succumbed to Brisbane. But after going undefeated in 2024, the Roos look poised to go back-to-back, currently sitting a game clear on top with a record of 8-0, and a percentage of 329.6.

Riddell, meanwhile, now owns four of the five highest single-game disposal tallies in AFLW history.

In 2022 Season Six, Riddell became the first ever player in AFLW history to eclipse 40 disposals, finishing with 42 in round 10 against West Coast, smashing the previous disposals record of 35.

Brisbane star Ally Anderson stole the record in 2024, recording 43 disposals in round two against Melbourne.

But in 2025, it appears Riddell has been on a mission to claim it back. In round two against Port Adelaide, Riddell tied Anderson's record.

A fortnight ago against Carlton, Riddell made that record her own when she collected 44 disposals against Carlton, before extending her lead on top on Saturday against the Swans.
