However, just like Collingwood, but slightly earlier, Brisbane suffered a fall in form that saw them take just two wins in six games before their performances improved again with seven more wins in nine games to finish third on the ladder.
The Lions' season seemed to be done after their Qualifying Final thrashing at the hands of the Cats. However, they bounced back in the Semi-Finals with a massive 100-47 win over the SUNS.
