Greater Western Sydney are considering a lifeline for delisted Sydney defender Robbie Fox, with the 31-year-old firmly on their radar ahead of the 2026 season.
Fox, who was cut by the Swans after a year derailed by injury, played only four VFL games in 2025. His last senior appearance came in the 2024 Grand Final, where he featured in Sydney’s clash with Brisbane at the MCG.
Giants weigh up experienced options
The Giants are exploring a range of recycled players to bolster their depth and are unlikely to act until the delisted free agency period or even the pre-season supplemental selection window. Fox’s versatility and experience, 105 games under John Longmire since being recruited from Coburg, make him one of several names under discussion.

Tasmania have also shown interest, offering Fox the chance to return home and join the Devils’ VFL side next year should an AFL opportunity not materialise.
For now, the defender remains determined to extend his top-flight career. With the Giants keeping close tabs on the market, Fox could yet swap the red and white for orange and charcoal.
