It has been claimed Whitfield stayed at the house of former welfare manager Lambert at the direction of former football manager Allan to avoid drug testers sent by ASADA in 2015.

A report in the The Australian says the AFL's integrity unit has submitted their findings on the investigation to the competitions's governing body and ASADA, with the results currently being discussed by AFL executives.

The Giants have maintained an independent investigation into the actions of Whitfield and the two officials proved there was no significant basis for the allegations.

If found guilty of evading a drug test, the accused three could be banned for multiple years

"The position is still that we've had the brief of evidence and been getting various legal opinion as to how we act from here," an AFL spokesman told AFL.com.au.

"That process is still occurring so I'm not sure how soon, but we'll have an announcement on which way we'll be going."
