Former World No 1 and legendry professional tennis player from Sweden, Stefan Bengt Edberg was born on 19 January 1966 in Västervik, Sweden. He was ATP No 1 in both the Single and doubles category. He used to put immediate pressure on the opponent, as he follow the serve and volley style, and he is known to be the all time best serve-and-volley player. He used to serve with the technique of top spin and American twist (Kick) serve, and he is a master in that area. Edberg will also remain in memories for his strong one handed backhand shot.
During his career, he won six Grand Slam single titles and three Grand Slam double titles. In 1996, he formally retired from the international tennis.
