American professional tennis player, Pete Sampras was born on August 12, 1971 in Washington D.C to a Greek family. From his childhood, he has the athletic abilities. At his childhood, he found a racquet and he started to play against the wall. Later when he was seven years old, he joined a local club, where his abilities and talents were discovered by his trainer Peter Fischer, who coached him till 1989.
He became the professional player in 1988, and after 2 years, in 1990, he won US Open that was his first Grand Slam victory. He won 14 Grand Slam single titles, though he never won any Grand Slam on Clay.
He was very famous for swinging shots, and that is why he is called as King of Swing. Having a good athletic body, he used to play single handed backhand shots. The earning he made through tennis is all time 2nd highest prize money.
