Andrew Stephen Roddick, nicknamed "A-Rod" one of the most celebrated athletes in the United States, was born on August 30, 1982 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was featured as the "Sexiest Athlete in People Magazine the year he won his only Grabd Slam title, the 2003 US Open. His father, Jerry, is an investor, while his mother, Blanche, is the director of the Andy Roddick Foundation. In less than 7 years, the Andy Roddick Foundation has already raised more than $8.25 million for 10 charities. His brother, John, who now operates a tennis academy in San Antonio, was an All-American tennis player from 1996-1998 while playing for the University of Georgia. His oldest brother, Lawrence, a chiropractor who is also in San Antonio, was a member of the US Senior National Team as a spring board diver. He likes listening to music by Dave Matthews and John Mayer and loes to watch movies as well.
