Wesley Sneijder Biography

Wesley Sneijder was born on June 9, 1984, in Utrecht, Netherlands. He is currently playing as a attacking for mid-fielder for Real Madrid. From the young age he was quite keen as a football player therefore adopted it as a profession in future. He made his professional debut with AFC Ajax in 2002 against Excelsior in a 2-0 win. He quickly establishes himself as a permanent member of the playing eleven in Ajax side. Between 2002 to 2007 he played 126 matches for AFC Ajax and score forty-three goals. In 2007 he was sold to Real Madrid for €27 million, making him the second most expensive Dutch football player. He played his first match for Real Madrid against Atlético Madrid. He missed the most of 2008 season due to injury which happened against Arsenal. He is a permanent member of the Netherlands national team and made his debut against Portugal in 2003. He has earned several awards such as AFC Ajax Player of the Year, Best Goal in UEFA EURO 2008 and Johan Cruijff Prijs
