Sylvain Distin was born on 16 December 1977 in Bagnolet, France. He is currently playing in Premier League for the Portsmouth as a Defender. He started his professional football with Joué-lès-Tours in 1997. After that he played ofr several football clubs such as Tours, Gueugnon and Paris St-Germain. In 2002 he was transfer to the Manchester City on a transfer fee of £4million. He went on to make 178 appearances for the club scoring 5 goals before moving to the Portsmouth in 2007 on a three year deal. On 17 May 2008 he won his first major trophy playing in English football, by winning the FA cup with Portsmouth.
