Richard Daniel Hughes was born on 25 June 1979 in Glasgow, Scotland. He is currently playing in Premier League for the Portsmouth as a Midfielder. He started his professional football with Bournemouth in 1998. He played 4 years with the club making 132 appearances, scoring 14 goals. In 2002 he was signed by the Portsmouth for the transfer fee of £50,000. He made his debut for the club in a 1-1 draw against Sheffield United F.C and soon establishes himself in the team.
