Mikael Silvestre was born on 9th August, 1977 in Chambray-Les-Tours, France. Presently he is playing for Manchester United in the defense position, and he also represents France in international games. In his early stages, Mikael started his journey with Rennes, a French club in the season 1995-96. The club happens to be one the best place as Mikael was able to build up a good career, and it also helped him to sign with Interzionale for the season 1997-98. He has played in eighteen league matches, and along with that six times for European Club. It was in the year 1999, 10th September when he signed a contract for 3.5 million pound with Manchester United.
However, Mikael is comfortable with both left full-back and centre-back position, but he always wants to play in the centre position. He has the capability of changing the situation of game and often creates opportunity to push the ball inside the net. He is also popular for wonderful cross passing, and good tackling abilities and his strongest weapon is his pace. After joining Manchester United, he first made his appearance against Liverpool, and the match was held in the year 1999 at Anfield. He was first identified in the 2001-02 season where he showed his skill both as a defender and a forward. No one is out of controversy, and the same thing happened with Mikael in the Bayer 04 Leverkusen game. He had to listen a lot for the 1-1 draw, but apart from this incidence, Mikael was opted for one of the players of Manchester United.
While going through his international career, Mikael gave an awesome performance in 2001, 27th February against Germany and France won the match for 1-0. He also helped France to get the Confederations Cup in the year 2001 and 2003. Euro 2004 seems to be a bad time for Mikael, as he was responsible for the penalties given to England and Croatia. France loosed the match in the quarter-finals against Greece.
