David James Wheater was born on 14 February 1987 Redcar, England. He is currently playing in Premier League for Middlesbrough as a Defender. Wheater started his early football career with Middlesbrough youth academy but soon break into the senior squad of Middlesbrough. While playing for Middlesbrough he was loan out to Doncaster Rovers from January to April 2006 but thing didn't went on as they were plan but he did score one goal during the loan. He joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on a three month loan in September 2006 but returned back to Middlesbrough on 15 November, after making just one appearance. This move takes place because the loan was supposed to provide the young defender with valuable experience but he was given any opportunity so Wolves sent him back. On 12 May 2007, Wheater scored his first goal for Middlesbrough in the Premier League against Fulham. In 2007 he was again loan out to Darlington where he made 15 appearances for the team managing to score 2 goals. In 2007 he signed a five year contract with Middlesbrough which could keep him attach with the club till 2012. On 20 March 2008, Wheater was called up to the England squad by boss Fabio Capello but he failed to qualify. In 2007-08 season he was linked with several big clubs of English Premier League such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle & Tottenham. On the 15th October, Wheater was drafted into the England senior team as a back-up, when John Terry and Ashley Cole withdrew due to injury.
