German player Christoph Metzelder was born on November 5, 1980 in Haltern, Germany. He is currently playing for Real Madrid as a Defender in Spanish League. Metzelder made his professional debut with Preußen Münster, German club in 1999. After playing one season with them he moved to Borussia in 2000, where there his success journey started. He helped his side to won the German championship in 2002 and was also the part of Germany National team in 2002 FIFA World Cup, which in the final but lost to Brazil. After playing several seasons with Borussia, Metzelder finally made a move to Real Madrid in 2007. Due to foot injury Metzelder missed most of the games of 2008 season. Despite his lack of playing time, he featured in Germany's starting eleven for Euro 2008. He is the backbone of the German defense for the past several years.
