Although he marked a slow beginning during 2004-05, it was the first day of January when he scored his first goal for the club. The goal was important, as it was the opening goal against Middlesbrough. Again in 2006-07 he retained his first position be playing splendid against Charlton Athletic and Middlesbrough. His international career is as bright as his domestic career. His spectacular performance in Euro 2004 made all his admirers extremely happy and satisfied.
