Nicholas Thompson biography

Thompson was born in Coral Springs, Florida. He graduated with a degree in Business Management from the Goergia Tech in the year 2005. He is a member of 2002 ACC Championship team.

Thompson finished thirdin the 2005 qualifying school and this won him the PGA Tour card for 2006. He made only 15 of 32 cuts, with one top 10 finish in 2006. He finished 180th in themoney card. Because of this he lost his PGA tour card. He played on the Nationwide Tour and won the HSBC New Zealand PGA Championship In 2007. He finishing sixth on the money list and earned his PGA Tour card for 2008. He has recorded 5 top-10 finishes thus far in the 2008 season, including a tie for seventh at The Barclays, which was the first tournament in the 2008 FedEx Cup. With the tie for seventh he jumped to 20th in the FedEx Cup Standings.

He has earned over two million dollars since turning professional in 2005. His biggest check came when he won about $265,000 for a tie for fourth at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship.

In 2007, his sister Alexis became the youngest player to qualify for the U.S. Women's Open at age 12 years, 4 months and 1 day. She survived the qualifier at Heathrow (FL) CC to make it to Pine Needles (NC) where Nicholas helped her in practice rounds before going to that week's Nationwide Tour event. Alexis bettered the previous age mark of 12 years, 11 months, 21 days set by Morgan Pressel in 2001.His total income in PGA tour is $2,252,021 so far.His total income in Nationwide tour is $352,798.HIs scoring average is 71.79 and driving distancew is about 288.0.
