Philip Rivers, who plays Quarterback and wears jersey number 17 for the San Diego Chargers in the National Football League, was born on December 8, 1981, in Decatur, Alabama. He stands 6 feet 5 inches and weighs 228 lbs. After playing college football at North Carolina State, he was drafted in the 1st round in 2004, 4th pick overall.


He made his professional debut in 2004 while playing for the San Diego Chargers.


He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2006, Senior Bowl MVP in 2004, ACC Athlete of the Year in 2004 and ACC Rookie of the Year in 2000.


Rivers and his wife, Tiffany, began dating in the seventh grade. They have three daughters (Halle, Caroline and Grace) and one son (Philip "Gunner").
